About us

The Twentieth Century Memorial Museum is a registered institute founded by the City of Prague. Its long-term goal is to create a modern memory institution focusing on the key events of the 20th century on the territory of Czechoslovakia, following the example of important foreign museum institutions (such as: The Museum of Warsaw Uprising in Warsaw, The Museum of World War II in Gdansk, The House of Terror in Budapest, The Topography of Terror in Berlin, The Museum of Holocaust in Washington or The Museum Yad Vashem in Jerusalem).

The House of Pages at Hradčany will provide the space for temporary exhibitions. We are preparing a project for its reconstruction and transformation into a real museum space. An ambitious project of a large-scale exhibition should be implemented in the near future in the stands of the Strahov Stadium. The Twentieth Century Memorial Museum will organize various events for the public: lectures, seminars, debates, conferences, a film festival, interactive walks around important historical sites and other online projects. The Museum’s program is available on its website and social networks. The Museum is managed by a director appointed by the Board of Trustees, which approves the work plan for the year and the annual report. The Collegium is a professional advisory body for the Board of Trustees. The Supervisory Board controls the management and activities of the Museum.
