The Museum became a full member of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience

On November 13, 2021 (after two years since its foundation), the Museum of the Memory of the 20th Century became a full member of an important European organization, the Platform of European Memory and Conscience. It brings together 68 organizations, from all over the world, that are engaged in research, documentation, awareness-raising and education about totalitarian regimes. Admission took place at the Platform’s annual meeting in Prague, during which, among other things, a new president and new members of the executive and supervisory boards were elected and full membership was granted to four other candidates, in addition to the Twentieth Century Memorial Museum. As part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Platform’s foundation, an international conference Year 1991 – A New Map of Europe was held on November 12-13, which was attended as well as the annual meeting on behalf of the Museum by its Director Dr. Jan Kalous and the Head of the Collections and Exhibitions Department Dr. Vít Fojtek. The Platform of European Memory and Conscience was also an official partner of the just concluded second year of the Twentieth Century Memorial Museum’s Documentary Film Festival Unbroken and Sacrificed, where the participants of the conference and the annual meeting were present on its second day, 11 November, 2021.
