As early as 22 December 1989, the government of Marian Čalfa stopped the activities of the StB Investigation Administration. The regional administrations, the counter-intelligence and the passport and visa administration disappeared. More than seven thousand StB officers surrendered their service weapons and identity cards and were placed out of service. The events of 15 February 1990 were only the first step on the difficult path of building the new security organs of a democratic state. We will map the atmosphere and background of this unique historical process with historians and direct actors.
At the beginning, the project of the new 20-part television documentary series ŠTB: PRÍSNE TAJNÉ from the Slovak production company B-PRODUCTION, which is being co-produced with RTVS and Czech Television and supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (AVF), will be presented.
The discussion is jointly organised by Libri Prohibiti, the Museum of Memory of the 20th Century and the production company B-production.
