Publication activity

  • Author and co-author of exhibitions and books on J. Plečnik, 10 Centuries of Architecture, Debt Repayment, Architect E. Králíček, Czech Architectural Cubism, Prague Functionalism, Josef Gočár, Prague Modern, etc.
  • Author of about seventy books on modern architecture and articles in anthologies and catalogues and several thousand professional and popular science texts in Umění, Vesmir, UNI, Respekt, Revolver revue, Lidové noviny, Prostor, Architekt, etc. He has lectured in many countries (Austria, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Portugal, Spain, Israel, USA, Japan, etc.).

Professional cooperation and participation in advisory bodies

  • He has collaborated with Czech Television (10 Centuries of Architecture series), Czech Radio and BBC, and he prepares short films about modern architecture and interviews with architects for the TV Architect website. He has been a member of the Council of the Czech Philharmonic, the Council of the National Museum, the Council of the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Scientific Council of TUL and the Chairman of the Mayor's Advisory Council for Architecture and Heritage Care. He is a recipient of the Slovenian State Medal of Merit.
