The Museum of the Memory of the 20th Century and the Kampa Museum have prepared a plein-air exhibition reflecting the century of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and its influence on society. It describes how the anti-systemic party of the First Czechoslovak Republic became a force that determined the shape of society for more than forty years after World War II. The exhibition presents the major historical milestones of this political party, its leaders and the interconnection of Czech and Slovak communism with Soviet Bolshevism. It will draw attention to the liquidation of so-called class enemies, the elitism of communist leaders, the phenomenon of political trials and their subsequent reflection, and the rigidity of the normalisation regime. It will recall communist censorship and propaganda. The exhibition was placed in Kampa Park from 15 May to 1 August 2021, the opening took place on 14 May 2021 at 6 pm. In electronic form, the exhibition is available in Czech and English on the website www.rudestoleti.cz. Two podcasts with the exhibition's co-authors were also prepared: the first with historians Jan Kalous and David Svoboda and the second with historian Petr Blažek. Two talks and several guided tours for schools and the public were organised.
An accompanying publication of the same name has been published in Czech and English to accompany the exhibition and is available for those interested in the Museum Kampa - Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation.
