From October 2023, the European GULAG exhibition is on display at the Vojna Lešetice Memorial, which is part of the Příbram Mining Museum. The Vojna camp was part of the complex of forced labour camps at the Czechoslovak uranium mines between 1949 and 1951. Political prisoners mined uranium ore for the Soviet Union under extremely harsh conditions. This unfortunate phenomenon is also touched upon in the exhibition.
The opening of the exhibition will take place in the premises of the Vojna Lešetice Memorial on 17 November 2023 (specific time to be specified) as part of a traditional commemorative act attended by the Governor of the Central Bohemian Region and other politicians. One of the authors of the Czech version, Petr Blažek, will attend on behalf of the Museum of the Memory of the XXth Century. One of the co-authors of the original English version of the exhibition, prepared by the Platform of European Memory and Conscience, will also come.
