Watch out, you'll hate political prisoners!
Christopher Zeman

This publication by historian Kryštof Zeman deals with the case of the so-called Bor rebellion. This fabricated trial took place in April and May 1950, and the book attempts to cover it in its entirety, including the question of who initiated it and how the investigation and trial were conducted. It also describes the preparation and implementation of the subsequent political campaign to multiply the effects of the trial on the Prison Guard Corps. Attention is also paid to the victims of the case and their fate. The publication draws mainly on original documents from the collections of the National Archives and the Security Forces Archive.

Little house. Military detention prison in 1948-1950
Markéta Bártová

The subject of Markéta Bártová's publication is the functioning of the military detention centre between 1948 and 1950. The prison went down in history under the name of Domeček and still shocks with the cruel conditions that prevailed there. Many personalities of the Czechoslovak military elite, whom the communist regime rightly considered its opponents or tried to get rid of through false accusations, suffered within its walls. The book, in some cases for the first time, gives a comprehensive picture of their life and career through detailed biographical medallions and explains whether and how they were punished for their actions. It also provides key information on those who were at their mercy as political prisoners of the totalitarian state.

The books can be purchased in the Kosmas bookstore network or on the spot at a discounted price.
