The history of the 20th century was tragically marked by the rise of totalitarian ideologies and regimes. Communism, fascism and Nazism brought immeasurable suffering to hundreds of thousands of people and caused countless casualties as a result of wars even in those parts of the world that were not under their direct domination. All these ideologies were born out of hatred and were associated with indiscriminate and often cruelly inhuman violence. This book presents the life stories of twenty-seven Christians who gave their lives for their faith. The catalogue is based on the Czech version of the exhibition prepared by the Museum of Memory of the XXth Century and the Platform of European Memory and Conscience in 2022.
