On Friday, 3 November 2023, the fourth year of the 20th Century Film Festival Unbreakable and Sacrificed closed with a closing ceremony in the crowded hall of the Atlas cinema in Prague. During the evening, a total of three prizes and two honorable mentions were awarded by the jury.
The Creator of Memory Award was presented to documentary filmmaker and director of the Ticha Memorial Pavel Štingl. The Jaroslava Jander Award for the Guardian of Memory was presented to Zdeňka Mašínová, who did not attend the ceremony for health reasons but greeted the guests via telephone interview. The main student prize was awarded to director Petr Januschka for his film Island of Freedom, produced by Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The jury also awarded two special mentions to Denisa Parobeková' s uStopia from the Slovak Academy of Performing Arts and Maria Magdalena Kochová' s short film from FAMU entitled Shells. The ceremony concluded with a screening of the film The Brothers, followed by a debate with the director Tomáš Mašín and, via video chat, with the protagonist of the story, Josef Mašín, moderated by Petr Blažek.
