XX.: Revue of the Twentieth Century Memorial Museum (Volume II/2022)

The second edition of the review XX., published by the Museum of the Memory of the 20th Century, brings, among other things, texts dealing with museum issues from different perspectives. This year's volume includes studies on the historical development of museum narratives and reflections on the role of the museum as a guide to values. Other expert contributions introduce us to the life story of the exceptionally talented athlete Emerich Rath or, through a series of documentaries, chillingly bring to life the moving fate of the student Lilian Landová, who paid the ultimate price for her courageous non-conformity at the height of normalisation. Ales Kýr's paper summarises the state of research on the identification of the final resting places of deceased prisoners and persons murdered by the communist judiciary in 1948-1965 and an interview with Petr Koura, director of the o.p.s. Collegium Bohemicum, will introduce us to the circumstances of the realization of a major exhibition on the life of the German-speaking population in our territory. The yearbook will also let the reader peek into another part of its collection of unique exhibits - witnesses of a turbulent epoch of Czechoslovak history - through brief medallions. Kosmas.cz is the main distributor of the XX. magazine.
