In mid-December 2021, the first yearbook of the 20th Century Memory Museumwas published. It enriches the Czech public debate with a professional and popularization periodical containing quality contributions that react to current events in the field of historical memory in a balanced yet qualified manner. Its aim is to become a summarizing and timeless platform, using the distance offered by its annual periodicity to summarize everything essential on selected topics. This is why this year's issue includes, for example, a study depicting the process of the birth of the Konev monument and the development of a society-wide debate concerning its future fate, as well as a reflection on the form and purpose of the annual Putin rites of victory in World War II, an expert analysis of the issue of the final resting place of one of the victims of the communist terror at Ďáblický Cemetery, a study on the presence of Soviet advisors in communist Czechoslovakia, a summary report from a trip to Polish memory museums, and an interview with Hana Kordová Marvanova, who was instrumental in the creation of the museum. The yearbook also offers a rich and graphically well-designed pictorial supplement. A sample of NKVD documents from the Kiev archive, prepared by Pavel Žáček, is published as a supplement. Kosmas.cz will be the main distributor of the XXth review.
