Vojna Lešetice Memorial, European GULAG exhibition and commemorative act, 17 November 2023 at 2 pm.
The Museum of the Memory of the 20th Century has joined the events organized by the Thanks That We Can platform, which will take place throughout November 2023 in Prague. It includes the outdoor exhibition Eyes of the State Security, which we have prepared together with the Kampa Museum, Prague City Tourism and the Security Forces Archive. The exhibition is located in Kampa Park. Its main themes are the surveillance units of the State Security and photographs of historical personalities, important events and places taken by its employees during the communist regime.
Within the framework of Korza Národní, Petr Blažek (from 10.15 a.m.) and Jan Kalous (from 1.45 p.m.) will give lectures on the theme of the exhibition in the Educational Tram near the New Stage of the National Theatre. From 11.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Jan Kalous will be a guide on a historical walk through the places connected with 17 November 1989. We will have a stand with publications in the street on 28 October.
Guided tours will be held at the Vojna Lešetice Memorial on 17 November 2023. They will include the European GULAG exhibition, which we have prepared together with the Platform of European Memory and Conscience. A commemorative act will take place at 2 pm, which will also be attended by the curator of the Czech version of the exhibition, Petr Blažek.
