The new seat of the Museum of the Memory of the 20th Century with a permanent exhibition will soon be the House of the Pážat in Kanovnická Street in Prague's Hradčany district, but it will have to undergo a thorough transformation. The last structural interventions in the historic building 50 years ago were as insensitive as the times themselves. A thorough and careful reconstruction of this building will correct many mistakes and create a dignified and functional exhibition space for the 21st century. It will create a place that will help to preserve historical memory, commemorate the victims of both totalitarian regimes and contribute to an understanding of patterns of authoritarian rule.
What will this new museum and exhibition look like? Come to the Centre for Architecture and Urban Planning on Wednesday 30/11/2022 at 7pm to discuss the project with the authors, historians, museum representatives and other experts.
The Centre for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP) is an information centre and workplace whose mission is to improve the public debate on the development of this city. It can be found next to the Emmaus Monastery, at 2075 Vyšehradská Street, Prague 2 - Nové Město.
