We organized the summer school together with the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and the Police Museum of the Czech Republic. This year's theme was Anti-Communist Resistance and Resistance, which was presented in the form of lectures, talks and workshops by historians Lukáš Holata, Martina Kantová, Martin Tichý, Vít Klepárník, Luboš Kokeš, Jan Procházka, Jaroslav Rokoský, Libor Svoboda, Jan Synek and Adam Zítek.
The programme included a screening of the documentary film Escape to Berlin (2023, directed by MArtin Froyda and Jan Novák), describing the famous anabasis of the Mašín brothers, followed by a discussion with the participation of historians Petr Blažek (the film's expert advisor) and Kamil Nedvědický. The Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions in the Senate of the Czech Republic, Jiří Růžička, also participated in part of the summer school programme.
More than seventy primary and secondary school teachers participated in the event this year.
We look forward to seeing you again next year!
