We cordially invite you to the international conference, which the Museum of the Memory of the XXth Century is co-organizing on 12-14 November 2024 with the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic.
This year marks 35 years since the fall of the communist regimes in Europe. In most countries, the transfer of power took place bloodlessly, creating a completely new geopolitical situation and causing fundamental changes in the European and world order. However, the unfortunate legacy of totalitarian systems and the communist past continues to affect the functioning of young democracies to a greater or lesser extent.
The international conference, whose main organizer is the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, will be held from 12 to 14 November 2024 at the Liechtenstein Palace in Prague with the participation of prominent personalities. Jiří Přibáň, David Satter, Igor Lukeš - and dozens of other experts, historians, political scientists - have accepted invitations to participate in panels.
The conference was held under the auspices of Petr Fiala, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. The conference is co-organized with the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes Office of the Government of the Czech Republic a Museum of the Memory of the XX. century. It is also produced in cooperation with Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania a The Remembrance Society.
