That is why we consider it necessary to commemorate not only the memory of the victims of totalitarian regimes, but also the remarkable bravery of citizens who, on the basis of their democratic convictions, decided to fight for freedom and actively oppose tyranny."
The August Declaration, in which the representatives of forty memory organisations supported the creation of the Museum of Memory of the XXth Century in 2019, reads. A few months later, the capital was founded. Much has been accomplished since then. Our museum has published more than two dozen books and catalogues, organized countless debates, seminars, conferences and guided tours, and prepared numerous exhibitions, always accompanied by accompanying didactic materials.
We are convinced that the basic thesis of the August Declaration is more than worthy of fulfillment. That is why, on the occasion of the museum's fifth anniversary, we would like to invite you to join us.
