Together with the Libri prohibiti library, we cordially invite you to a discussion on the comparison of the Nazi and Communist regimes' attitude towards jazz music and its fans in Germany, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia/Czechoslovakia and Poland. How did the persecution of jazz and swing fans differ in these three Central European countries, and what were the common features?
On 13 November at 7 pm, historian Natalie Reinsch, Polish journalist and dissident Aureliusz Marek Pędziwol, Czech historian Petr Koura and Jazz Section activist Vladimír Kouřil will debate the topic. The meeting at the Libri prohibiti library will be moderated by historian Kryštof Zeman.
Interpretation of the debate into Czech, German and Polish will be provided. Free admission.
