A total of seventeen authors contributed to the comprehensive Czech-English catalogue for the European GULAG exhibition, which is also interesting as a stand-alone publication. In short, lucid chapters, it covers the history of labour camps of various types in Czechoslovakia, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Moldova, which it brings to life through rare photographs. It also includes portraits of selected victims as well as portraits of interrogators, camp commanders and guards. In addition to the original English-language exhibition, it includes a chapter on Czechoslovaks in the Soviet GULAG. Worksheets for project lessons in history and social studies were also created for the exhibition.
The European GULAG catalogue will be on sale through the Kosmas distribution network. The exhibition was held at the Ambit Gallery from 6 to 30 June 2023.
