First Martial Law Debate (22 Sep 2021)

Eighty years ago, in September 1941, Reinhard Heydrich became Acting Reich Protector and immediately after his arrival in Prague he declared martial law in the Protectorate. The so-called First Heydrichiad was a reaction to the rise of the resistance movement, followed by hundreds of death sentences and thousands of arrests. At the same time, however, Heydrich attempted to break the morale of the Czech population with generous social programmes for industrial workers.
We cordially invite you to a debate on this historic anniversary, which will take place on 22 September 2021 at 7 pm at the Václav Havel Library. The guests will be Pavel Kmoch, Vojtěch Šustek and Pavel Zeman, moderated by Jan Kalous.
From 27 September 2021, the recording will be available for viewing on the Havel Channel (www.havelchannel.cz).
