The Museum of Prague in cooperation with the Museum of Memory of the 20th Century, Institute for Contemporary History of the CAS, Faculty of Education, Charles University, National Theatre, National Film Archive and the Association of Museums and Galleries are organising a conference on 5-6 May 2025 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, "Trauma, Hope and Illusion. Cities at the end of World War II and in the whirlwind of post-war transformation".
The aim of the conference is to present the end of the Second World War and the first years of the post-war transformation in the Czech, Czechoslovak and European context. The focus will be on towns and villages, which are conceived not only as significant venues but also as actors of social, cultural, political and economic processes.
